How would you rate your 2015 Fishing Season! Also what fish would you have loved to have caught more of?

Had a GREAT 2015 season and hoping for an even better 2016! I would have liked to have caught a few more Rios off of the Guadalupe River and also more Warmouth out of the creeks. As for the Bluegill,Redear,Greens,Redbreast,Hybrids, and Longear caught a ton of em on all types of water bodies.
IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap. John 3:16 Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !

2015 was a really incredible year for me. I accomplished all my goals, save one. Through a lot of hard work and help from my friends and fellow TFFers I made significant strides in understanding fish behavior, locating fish, techniques, fly casting, fly tying, equipment and the ability to detect the most subtle bite. Over 90 percent of the fish I caught this year were on the fly
* Set 2 more State Private Water Body Records * Completed Elite Angler * Set Lake Somerville Fly Record for Bluegill * Caught trophy species of bluegill, red ear sunfish, hybrid sunfish, green sunfish, Rio and White bass * Caught several species of fish for the first time on a fly rod, including white bass, stripper, gar and an 8 lb. Buffalo I caught on my 4 weight * Fished a lot of new places such as the Brazos below Whitney and the Guadalupe.
More importantly, it was a healthy, happy year for all my family. I was able to meet, fish and learn from several more TFFers. I made friendships that will last a life time. If I wouldn't have set a record or caught a trophy fish it would still have been an incredible year.

October 2014 to October 2015 was my first year with a focus on sunfish. It has been awesome and I have loved every minute of it. I've fished for sunfish since I was a kid but never really focused on them. Every spring we would run up to a big stock tank near Llano and fish for sunfish. I've done that all my life up until about 10 years ago. Sadly for us that property sold. I've been a member of TFF for quite a while. Every once in a while I would drop into this forum just out of curiosity. I would read the posts and think to myself, "someday
.". Well starting last October I decided to actually go for it and it's been great. My life long fishing buddy has enjoyed it and I've had a very special time sunfishing with my son and sister. This is her first focus on fishing of any kind and she has had a great time. She definitely has "the touch" for this and usually catches the most and often the biggest. A trophy red ear has eluded her until recently. Very rewarding for both of us when that came ! We are looking forward to many days of sunfishing in the coming year !! Praise the Lord for His wonderful creation that we have been made fit to enjoy. Some pics from this past year --

What did you catch the gar on? I think it was a chartreuse / white clouser.

Yes, I've hooked 2 in the mouth and got them on the bank. It is very difficult to get a good hook set. I snagged a lot of them this year by accident while fishing below the dam. I've only specifically targeted them a couple times, neither time with much luck. Usually when I catch one, even in the mouth, I try to get them off my line. It usually works when they are caught in the mouth, not so much when they are hooked in the fin, LOL!!!

Good but short year, I just got back into fishing a few months ago after a long, long, hiatus. I enjoy catching almost anything, but Bass (Largemouth, Smallmouth and Guadalupe) and Rainbow Trout are my favorites.
The big goal for me in the coming years is to learn how to read the river. Most of my fishing experience has been on ponds, lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and the occasional irrigation canal.

This has been a great year for me even though I did not get to fish near as much as I normally do because of work. I feel like I learned more this year then ever before due to some of you on the TFF. I caught more fish this year due to trying new techniques and getting tips from TFF'ers and I got a new fishing partner that has taught me a lot also. As stated before, I thank the Lord for this beautiful creation He has given us to enjoy.

I would rate my year as a good one. Caught some nice Cats and Stripers. Would have loved to have gone out a little more. Going to try to take advantage of the White Bass Run coming up in February on the Nueces River.

Had my best year since I started fishing for sunfish which has not been all that long. Would have been a super year if the floods had not occurred. Bluegill,Crappie,Bass, and a some very nice Rios were plentiful. Would have loved to have picked up more Redear!

This year was a pretty good year of fishing for me! I went out and fell in love with bull gill fishing on Athens wit Dean (WacoKid)! That dude will work his arse off to put you on fish. Big ups to Banker for letting me know just how great fried fish and Modelo's are...as a result, I dont eat fish without em !!! I primary fish for crappie but a blue gills will give them a run the money taste wise and the fight is incredible coming from those lil guys. Learned alot from reading post and asking questions...Its amazing how the good folks on here will chime in and help out! Still wanting to make a trip down to fish the Guadalupe with Banker and friends. Also still looking to catch my first Rio! Will post a few picks later...
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!
