My grandfather used to say "put an X on the side of the boat, so we'll know where to find 'em next time."
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

for years growing up and fishing with my grandpa he would always tell me the reason he was catching fish and I wasn't was because "I wasn't holding my mouth right",..I would watch and try to see how he was holding his mouth. After many years and growing up a little I finally figured out the position he was trying to describe to me was...."CLOSED". Whoa, my grandpa used to say that all the time. I had no clue what he was talking about until now!

Red at night sailors delight, red in the morning sailors warning. Supposedly predicted the weather. I've been told there is a bit of truth to it.

With my Grandpa and Dad we always had to call the fish..."here fish here fish here fish" with a deep loud voice!!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Look up on a sunny calm morning and see the light, feathery and swirly clouds; hold on to your hat the wind is fixing to blow.

Never catch a fish on the first cast. There are a couple of Pros. that will make a very short first cast of the morning to avoid that issue of bad luck.

Mr James King used to tell me (back in the 70's going to Holbrook) ... "If that Sabine's up, we'll catch 'em". He was right on!

Fish only have a two second memory, so if you hook one give it a minute and it will bite again.

"Fish dont bite when girls are around"
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

Here are a few that I believe are good words to live by.
"If you eat right you're going to s--t" "Don't let your meat loaf" "Don't get any on you, but if you do, get it all over you" When playing golf, "keep you knees straight and your legs bent"
