Sitting around at thanksgiving someone brought up cooper. Haven't heard anything on this lake surely there are still bass in this lake does anyone fish it now that it came up?

Funny, i had the same discussion with a family member today. I do know texaswaterdata.org has i listed as .5 feet high. Been a long time since its had that much water in it. TPWD has stocked it in the last few years as well, the bite should be on out there.

Maybe it's the forgotten lake to be so good to now no one even mentions it anymore still has to be some good fish in there

I think I'm going to make a trip up there soon. Probably sucks but you never know. Used to be an amazing lake. Like the OP said there's still gotta be some nice fish in there. I look at all new lakes that im thinking about trying from google earth first before doing anything else. The satellite picture was taken when the lake was low. The problem I see is a lack of habitat. Looks to be no grass and no sheltered places for the fish to spawn. There is tons of timber so that's a plus. A guide on Fork told me how Bass will spawn in 20+ feet of water on the tops of tree stumps. There's no shortage of timber on Cooper but I would guess this is a rare way to see the fish spawn. If anyone goes out there give us a report.

The water looks like chocolate milk. I don't see many bass fishermen it's mostly sand bass and hybrids.
