I hate iphone and photobucket. These pics all look fine on PB. I had to edit the orientation on some of them before uploading them to PB. Once uploaded, they look fine in the PB library. However, they still show their old orientation. Frustrating.

Update: It seems to take PB a few hours after you upload fixes that have been edited for the editing to reach their cache. In the mean time, it appears the pictures were not edited properly. The pics above fixed themselves after a couple hours.

Made a bunch of blackfin tuna recipes the last couple days. When BlkFT is fresh, I have a hard time telling it apart from better tuna.

Tuna Tower. Layers of sushi rice, crab meat, avocado, and topped with tuna. garnished with Wasabi mayo, siracha mayo, and unagi sauce.

My tuna rolls need some practicing.

DAMN Mark!!!
I didn't keep any BFT , used them for chunk or threw them back into GOM.
Thanks for sharing the post !!! Next time, will keep a few for what you showed....especially when YFT are challenging to catch!!
Thanks again for posting!!

Yeah, the only bummer about BlkFT is no tuna steaks. The tuna itself is actually pretty comparable to YFT (IMHO). It's awesome in rolls, poke, and especially smoking. Good consolation prize when YFT are picky.

fishtuna I agree with Markk on blackfin. Its a worthwhile to keep some. My two favorite ways with the blackfin are smoked then eat it as is or use it in casseroles or jalapeno poppers YUMMY. Blackfin seems to me (maybe my imagination?) to be a bit oilier and takes well to smoking. The other way I use blackfin is grind it up and make tuna burgers, there is recipe for what to mix with the ground tuna before cooking it.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

I had my first ever uncooked tuna on this trip. It wasn't bad but probably not something I'll ever crave.

Previously the only raw tuns I had tasted was under my fingernails. peep

Very cool trip reports from all you guys. Maybe one day the stars will line up right and i'll get to go on one of these.

On this video of the marlin fight, it sounds and looks like the captan was maneuvering the boat a lot. Was that all just to keep the boat in the right place related to what the fish was doing? If so, was all that done with just the screws, or does this boat have thrusters on it that were used.
I've never been on anything like that so just wondering how it's done.

Sounds like everyone had a great time and hoping Bazz didn't get any permanent damage from deck chair incident.
