Spot in your right. Smallies in your left.

Nice smallmouth thumb

You throwing those deep cranks at timber? or are you working some sort of structure?

None of those fish prior to being called out are spots. The chuck you caught is a smallie. Two things define this. One being the faint, very faint, dark patches running vertically and the coloration of the fish extends farther than a spot could dream of.

You can see very clearly in Brad's comparison of a spot and smallie these characteristics. Notice how much white is in the lower half of the spot and don't forget the defined lines running horizontally as well near the belly to the back end of the fish.

The only one I see mistaken is the first fish after the chuck which is a largemouth. Largemouth bass are the only ones to have a jaw past their eyes. The others you have to look at other attributes to determine.

Great fish. That said, I've caught thousands of the things and at 19.5 you'd be lucky to push 4.5lbs.

Nice smallies! Looks to be 4.5lbs or so to me. I just caught one that big on Texoma that looks to be about the same size.
