Picasso Tungsten Shakedown Shakey heads are my go-to bait for back of the boat fishing. They are, like you mentioned, a clean-up bait. The Picasso Tungsten Shakedown is my favorite. The screw on the head is small so you can get the smallest bait possible on that head. Not to mention, it's Tungsten, so you'll feel everything on the bottom! Don't be afraid to throw a craw on there either!

I like the spot remover shakey heads, I prefer the ones with out the cork screw but with the plug as I feel it takes longer to tear up the worm. They have good hooks and have worked well for me. Havent fished shakey head in awhile... maybe I need to get it back out

The best advice has already been given. I like the owner and piccaso shakey heads. Piccasso is tungsten and the owner is lead. Both have great hooks. the spot remover will work in a bind and i have caught a ton of fish on them.

Omega shaky foots are hard to beat. Used to use big bite baits but had a giant straighten the hook. Never again

My home lake is all rocks. If your in rocks the bullet head on a Lucky Strike Hook is the way to stay out of trouble as best you can. Super Glue the worm to the head. If you ever start using super glue you will never stop because it works so well. Shaky Head is based on a floating worm. Throw your worm (as stated on the package FLOATING WORM) in a glass of water and see how well it floats. Most don't float. Good luck sir.
TAKE A PHOTO HOME NOT THE FISH. CATCH AND RELEASE Set the hook first and ask questions later.

What do y'all think is the best soft bait to put on one small, med, or large? Depends on the size of the fish you are targeting and what the fish want on that day. I experiment until I get bit. Trick worms, craw worms, baby brush hogs, rattle snakes, flukes etc. I mostly use the Owners as well and get them at Academy. I started with the spot removers but didn't like them. For me, they got hung up all the time and I lost too many baits fishing them so I switched to the Owners. I use these up to 1/4 oz. After that I use several different brands of heavy shaky heads and large baits.

The Owner shaky heads are really good. They have a centering pin which helps you screw the bait onto the jig head. And, even the smaller sizes, like 1/8 oz., have a 4/0 hook. Been using them about a year with good results.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
