Finally got to get our times together so ER & I could get out
ER stated that him and a buddy had caught some nice slabs on timber the day before on Pearl Ice....so I figured that would be the plan of attack
At our 1st stop, I dropped a BES Tadpole that was already on my rod and almost immediately stuck the BFD
She weighed 2.22#
We caught a few other dinks there and then started hitting other spots in that general area -
NADA Dropped the Pearl Ice.....nope...wasn't working
Although, there was more visible baitfish than I'd seen anywhere lately, there was that tale tell brown foam of lake turn over floating all over the place
After checking 5 or so spots, we motored to the area that had produced for Red Snappa and myself on the 10th
We fished the 1st spot that had paid off earlier....
NADA Moved to the bp that we'd caught the most from on the prior trip......couldn't buy a bite till I picked up a rod with a Natural Shad Mr. Fry.
I started putting fish in the box, not at a record pace, but fast enough that EJ switch also
We moved to another spot and caught a couple of keepers, then moved to the leaning tree by the creek channel that Belinda & I had hit...
Caught fish there on at a pretty good clip
Switched back to the BES tadpole and it was ON!!!
Here's el Rojo with his BFD
We ended up with 31 that we cleaned and bagged for the G2G fish fry, 7 of which I would have been pleased to have at a weigh in
We started the day out heavily clothed, but was stripping as the day progressed and was sweating by mid-afternoon
Belinda called me around noon and I could hear the I wanna go fishing in her voice.....Once this wind lays, I'll take her out
