So i need to replace one of the eyes on a rod (not the tip). After I wrap the thread what should I use to coat it and were do I get it?

I use Devcon 2 ton epoxy. Most automotive stores carries it and some Hobby Lobbies. Clear finger nail polish in Hard AS Nails is a cheap route to coat the wrap.
