Hey guys, been fishing Amon Carter and all I'm catching are dinks, i've been catching them in 1 to 4 ft of water. Am I been fishing to shallow or what? I've been throwing squarebills and jerkbaits. The water temp has been around 84 to 87 degrees. Has anybody else had this happen to them? Thanks again for the help.

I've been on em pretty good at Amon lately. Won a tourney out there two weekends ago. 1 to 4 wasn't to shallow then. Pulled 3 fish from that depth then the 4th from 10'-12' later in the day. Have had better luck on the new side as opposed to the old side. That being said, a buddy of mine did pull out a 6# from old side on a jig, but a week before that my partner and I both pulled 6'ers out on the new side (August 15th). I know alot of people have been claiming Amon is fishing tough (also made evident by no other boat bringing in more than one fish on the tourney day), but its been a hayday for me. Without getting too specific (for fear of my favorite fishing hole being swarmed), throw a buzzbait in the morning and either a jig, t-rigged hags, or a shaky head in the late morning/afternoon. I haven't had ANY luck on a crankbait of any sort so far since June.
