The new boat has a jackplate, does it really matter what position the jackplate is in, up or down when towing? Also, came with a the transom saver bar for towing, is there anything else out there that works better than this bar/rod? Someone at work mentioned a transom wedge? Anyone have one? Any good? Thanks in adavance.

if your jp is hydraulic i THINK they recommend it be all the way down when trailering. if jp is manual it can be trailered as is.

I have never heard a jackplate manufacture say how to store them. I put them at half way. As much ground clearance as needed. Had a scissor lift jp that you needed to go all up to put it on its own lock. Wedge? they must be talking about

I put mine half way down and use a Motormate. Good to go anywhere.

That's the way my 12" Para Lift on the Ranger is. All the way up and locks on to a hook to relieve pressure on the pump.
