Why is someone from Minnesota on a TEXAS fishing forum anyways. We from Texas you should know everything is done BIG in Texas.

God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Before you start bashing the Great State of Texas, I suggest you do some research on the life cycle and the prolific life style of crappie. I am so glad Texas Parks & Wildlife has more sense than Minnesota.

Has anyone thought about taking enough for a meal and putting the rest back for another day? So glad Minnesota has more sense with their bag and possession limits!

To be honest that's really nothing. They plan on 2-4 filets per person so that is really only about 300 fish with all the trimmings. Its hard to believe, but not all of them like or eat the fish. They also catch catfish to feed their church. I guess I should have said that too. The real point being, Crappie are prolific breeders and for the damage that they do.. along with the guides and the rest of us its nothing. I can fish the 400+ Brushpiles I have marked on Granger and catch at least 2 keepers per pile with about 25 dinks. That does not even include fishing any of the timber that is on the lake. So if you do the math that it 10000 in just the spots I know. I am willing to bet there are well over 100000 crappie in that lake.

Thas a low number... Nice mess of fish. Congrats!
