Mike was in Canada. I carried him a backup boat. But it took me 3 hours to get there and he had 1 fish at that time. By the time we got all of his tackle switched out he only had about an hour to fish. I carried the boat back to the Mercury trailer and they did not have all the parts to fix it. He is in the back up boat this morning. Mike has had a tough year, but this sport is not for the faint of heart. I hear guys say all the time how they would love to fish the Elites, it takes very special person to do this. We got back to the campground at 9:00 pm and Mike still had to get his tackle ready for this morning. He got to bed about midnight and picked me up at 4:30 this morning. This time frame is not unusual during an Elite event. This is everyday from Monday until the end of the tourney. I have had the good fortune to travel with Mike throughout his Elite Career. We have driven straight thru from Florida, Arizona and New Jersey in the dead of night.
From January 2nd until June the 30th we slept in our own beds 8 nights. It is a tough life, but he is very determined to make a name for himself.

I am sure Mike will be just fine. He will get past this time period and when things start falling back in place for him he will take full advantage of it and be right in the mix of things. He just seems like the type of person to take a negative and do whatever is necessary to turn it into fuel to move forward with even more determination.
Keep up the fight Mike, a lot of us local guys are always pulling for you.
Besides I have had you on my fantasy team all year no matter how things are going. woot

Very, very true.
He is truly determined, just going through a rough patch.

Hats off to guys like you that take care of those guys. The tournament couldn't happen without you and you rarely get any credit.

He was on Lake Erie in 26 feet of water, says he never hit anything . He said he heard a snap and told his Marshall to hold on then the boat did a 360 at 70 mph.
