What has been the hardest Sunfish for you to catch this year? You can also state a reason. Side Note: Pick 3.

I picked the Warmouth as being the hardest for me. I have only caught a couple this year. Second would be the Redear. I have caught some nice ones this year but not as many as last year. The Green was third due to the fact I have not fished that many spots where they would be. Most common sunnie I have caught was the Bluegill! Caught a ton of em this year.

The Warmouth has been the hardest for me to catch this year. I have caught some nice ones this year but not many. I have fished a lot creeks and small rivers and areas ideal for em but with little to no results. I have also caught a bunch of nice Redear but not as many as last year. Was catching a lot of Greens in the early spring and the start of summer while fishing creeks but lately their bite has slowed down. Side Note: The Bluegill and Redbreast bite has been super good all year.

I haven't caught a single Redbreast this year. From most to least for me it has been Bluegill, Longear, Green and Warmouth. I probably caught 250 bluegill, 50 longear and 25 Greenies out of Lake Somerville the last few weeks and not a single Redbreast.

Rio's only 2 for me this year The Guadalupe River Rio bite along with the Rio Creek bite has been slow all year! May's flooding has taken it's toll. I have been lucky and have been able to catch a few nice ones at certain other spots that have produced. Even those spots were not has good as last year.

No redbreast in SE Colorado. At least not that I've come across. Come to think of it, not much warmwater species in the riverine waters out here unless you fish downstream of Lake Pueblo or way out east on the prairie and sand hills.

Jagg I grew up in Colorado Springs and caught bluegill, crappie, pumpkinseeds, bass, and yellow perch in many ponds and lakes at and east of the front range. Many of the creeks had chubs as well as suckers and trout, but not much in the way of sunfish.

Thanks Fisherwood. I've been doing ok on post and have done fairly well at Brush Hollow and am trying to make it out to the Valco Ponds before the cold comes. I have only been there once as a short scouting trip. My hope is the second time will be more fruitful.

I figured the Warmouth would have been the hardest. I am some what surprised that the Redear would be second. I knew the Bluegill and Longear would be the most easiest to catch.
