Okay. Can you be my attorney? Me: "Your Honor, I was not creating an excessive wake." Judge: "Constable, what say you?" Constable: "I witnessed the defendant creating an excessive wake". Objection your honor!Judge to my attorney: "What do you have to add, Counselor?" Attorney: "Your Honor, at the time of the alleged excessive wake, my client was insane". Judge: "Insanity?" Attorney: "Yes, your Honor. Insanity. My client had to be crazy if he was on Lake Conroe in the Summer on a weekend". Judge: (Gavel slamming) "Guilty as charged. Next". I would like to cross examine the constable your honor. Exactly how fast did you have to travel to confront my client? I have a witness that saw you create an excessive wake in route to making a ridiculous seen with my client.

Law enforcement has to break the speed limit to catch speeders on the water, as they do on the highway.

They have to show up in court. That is how they get thrown out most often.

They have to show up in court. That is how they get thrown out most often. Okay, in all seriousness. I go before the judge. There is the Constable. He says I was going to fast. What exactly am I supposed to say that is going to convince this judge that the Constable was mistaken? There are no radar readings. This appears to be the classic case of "his word against mine".
