Met Rob at Whitney again this morning and we unloaded, got on the water before the sun and went to our go to place that has been great the two previous trips. Of course, not today. No shad and all we marked was debree on the graph. The flats west of the island was barren. So we headed East where we had found some latter in the day the second trip. As the sun came up so did acres of sandbass and they were HUNGRY. Didn't count and didn't keep any but we were very busy for at least two solid hours. Many many doubles on slabs, a-rig, top water, but what worked best was a #4 mepps spinner. Birds were working and the sandies were surfacing all over. Mepps would catch them when they were up or down. These fish were aggressive and good sized. My neck hurts from spinning around so much looking at all the schools that were up. This finally played out but the fish were still in the area. We could just move the boat around and find them. Later in the day we spotted a boat load of shad being chased out of the water on a point and we moved over there. Huge school of baby LMB. Never seen this before. We had a blast take a look at the pics. The graph was lit up like a christmas tree and of course Rob was hauling them in two at a time. Graph Rob with double Nice sandie on a mepps

The only launch I know about is Loafers Bend down by the dam. It is in good shape, easy launch and has a dock to pick up passengers. I'm sure there are others.

Thanks, Steve. I've fished the Nolan on and off over the years but never tried the lake. I may or may not make it down, but it is still on bucket list.

Did you catch many of size around the island. About 12:30-1:00 had sparadic surfacing of short sandbass that we chased around until we could take the heat at about 2:30.

Nice catch. Whitney us hot. We're catching limits of stripes in a hour to 2 hours every trip.
