Also, The weights aren't that low although many lakes in Texas would be better that time of year. Now that this year's Championship will be a 5 fish limit I would expect somewhere around 30-35# to win the event over the 2 days. [/quote]

30-35# lol. Im betting 24

Last year's 1st and 2nd place winners had 20.45 and 18.34 on 2 - 3 fish limits or roughly 3.25# per fish. If those same averages are put across 5 fish limits it would be in that 30-35# range.

And my point was more that I would bet 95% of the people complaining on here weren't even fishing Champs at all much less had fished enough to qualify for the Championship wherever it was being held.

Everyone's over here complaining about low weights this, no rooms that and I'm just sittin here thinking man I just want to win another Talon in the Friday night drawings!!!!

It does suck for my buds fishing the Texas Bass Couples.... They won't be able to fish both Championships. Feel bad for em. Kinda glad I wasn't able to fish the couples tournies this year now because I had a cabin reserved already for their Championship but gave it to K.D. since I hadn't fished any.

Last year was our first year fishing Champs and first time fishing the Red River. Fishing sucked for us on the river but man what a great time we had put on by Bass Champs with the catfish dinner Friday night, the party saturday night at the casino, gambling with my family just a helluva good time. We are very happy about going back to the Red..... Just wish the timing was a week or so later so our buddies could fish it.

I don't fish many tournaments anymore, but am a big supporter of Bass Champs. I know that the staff considers every possible option, and all the key things needed to pull off a successful event: fishability; rooms, dinners, entertainment, take offs, weigh ins, traffic control, and MONEY to pay for as much as they can so you have the best payout in the business. Seems to me that being that they are not new at this, and have years of a track record, maybe they know what they are doing? Maybe teams trust them? How many times have they got it wrong? How many times have they bombed?
At the end of the day, 99% like their decisions. 1% just likes to beech. It's that way in a lot of businesses.lol

I'm looking forward to just come and hang out again with all our friends and drink a few and make the [censored] table my beech. See y'all there!
Jeff

Looking forward to it. Got the room set up, ready to get to prefish it so I can get my knowledge ready.

This is my first year to fish enough events to be able to fish the championship and we are excited about it.This is a new place for us and I have no problem with it being in Louisiana, evens the playing field up some.We had no problem getting a room at a decent price. As for the weights being low who cares if it's tough it's the same for everyone, makes for a closer tourney,in other words more teams have a chance. We'll study up,go perfish and see how we stack up.Oh and we might hit the casinos sometime.JMHO!

If you don't want to fish the championship don't fish it. 50/50 for me, lots of money to head over there for 5 days with gas, lodging, food, etc. Good luck to those competing. Maybe Travis next year bolt
