Such as fiberglass and carbon? Other than the obvious answer that they are different materials. Pros and cons of fiberglass rather than carbon?

Fiberglass rods are tougher and have slower actions than graphite rods. They are great for moving baits like crankbaits because their slower actions allow better hookups and more give if a fish surges hard on a short line. Also, they load deeper into the blank which usually translates to longer casts. Glass is not very sensitive though and weighs a bit more than a comparable graphite rod. Graphite is more fragile, but more sensitive and has faster actions than glass which makes them the ticket for bottom contact baits like jigs or worms. Each material has their place.

On graphite rods, you have module counts, modules of graphite that make up the blank. The higher the number, the less the rod weighs and that makes it more sensitive as well. For instance, an older graphite rod might be a 52 to 55 thousand (or that could be 5.2 and 5.5, don't remember now) strands of graphite. It will be a slower rod than the 9+, (which would be lighter and more sensitive.
Then there are composite rods, a compilation of both graphite and fiberglass rods. Rods like BPS Crankin' Stik or KVD Quantum Cranking stick are examples of this material. It offers a balance between the two fibers, glass and graphite. I prefer full graphite, because I want to know what my lure is doing at all times. Even for deep cranking, I just back my reel off to about a 3# drag and don't lose fish by ripping the hooks out of the mouths of fish. To each his own, though.
Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Plus, graphite conducts!
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.
