Anyone know if you can put a yak in below the dam? Heading to pagosa this weekend and plan on bringing the yak.

Yeah there is actually a ramp where people launch kick boats below the dam. The fish are highly pressured but world class none the less. Good luck!

We launched at that ramp for 5 days in November last year. Just scoot past Texas Hole unless you don't mind the crowds...BIG fish in there though, so it may be worth the trouble.

Just be careful if you paddle down stream past where 173 (Navajo Dam Rd.) meets 511. Don't stop or get out of your yak, there are some real idiot land owners down that way toward Blanco. I've had a gun pointed at me more than once. One guy even stretched a low cable across the river. There was a big dust up for several years over that [censored].
On a good note, the fishing is really good. Small Rapala's on a spinning rod work great!
