23lbs+ in an hour. If I ever get that lucky in a multiple day tourney, I hope I am smart enough to leave them biting and hope they are still there the next day. Unless you catch an 8+lber, would you really increase your day 1 bag enough to help?
Coach
unless there is zero chance of someone following you to the spot, sitting on it and throwing a top water all day isn't a terrible idea. finding similar spots would be my second choice.

If no one saw you there, leave. If everyone saw you there, stay!

leave it, find plan b, c, d just in case.

sitting in the area all day raises curiosity and may draw unwanted attention days 2-3.

btw - great problem to have.

You better be looking for other spots. One spot will not hold you in a three day tourney.

Depends if you think someone else will fish it the way it needs to be fished. You could hang there in the general area and throw a big fish bait like a 7" swim bait going for a big bite or nothing.

Best strategy might be to leave and try for a kicker elsewhere then start there on mornings 2 and 3. Of course if certain boats who use the bent pole method have seen you then your cooked.

In a big event with lots of boats, I'd stay there and throw nothing but your biggest jigs or swimbaits the rest of the day. Weather can change, fish can move, other boats can get there before you the next day, so many variables can change, and you have no idea if/when those fish will be active the next day. If you don't get there first the next day after beating it to death, at least you'll know you picked off all the big ones the day before when they were biting. I have bailed on a spot that was hot before in an effort to save fish for the next day. We got beat by 10 pounds (we had 28lbs by 11 am, you'd think that would have been enough) and we couldn't repeat the success the second day even after "saving" fish for later. One of the most consistent things my dad taught me about tournaments was never leave hungry fish to find fish, especially if they're good ones.

Surprised no one has offered this, but leave the fish alone (it's probably a pretty good sized school) and use your electronics to map out the general area around your hump. It's likely the fish will move some between day 1 & 2 and again between day 2 & 3. However, if you have mapped the general area well, you can probably relocate them with a little effort on some sort of structure nearby (if you know what's nearby). They didn't leave the lake, but they may have (probably) left the hump.

Once you have done this, go look elsewhere for a kicker!!
