Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is conducting an angler opinion survey concerning Lake Naconiche. Input from Lake Naconiche anglers is very important. Information gained from this questionnaire will enable TPWD to make the most informed decisions regarding future fisheries management strategies, especially those affecting largemouth bass length limits. Please take a few minutes and complete the survey at the link below. Your answers will not be connected with your name and all information you provide will remain strictly confidential. I've never fished it Todd but know there are a bunch here who have. C'mon fellas, here's your chance to have a direct impact on the future of one of your fisheries.

Man I sure wish this was done for a few other lakes. I've never been to Naconiche but its pretty clear in their line of questions they are trying to figure out how to make the average fish bigger in the lake by the possibility of implementing a new slot. Has TPWD done this type of survey for other lakes or is this something kind of new? Heck they even ask for opinions on the amount of grass in the lake being good, bad or just right. That's nearly unheard of.

That's nearly unheard of. I think you are thinking about the Coop of Eng. Lakes about grass and not asking.. Not the TPWD leadership. I agree with you... I wish they would survey the fisherman for other lakes as well... Very good survey to get good info from the people who fish the lake...

TPWD has conducted these surveys for other lakes in the past. Not to mention their creel surveys conducted at boat ramps throughout the year. They do electrofishing surveys and they do gill net surveys. I believe they even asked for angler input on new gar regulations at Falcon.
Some just love to bash on TPWD (present company excluded). I prefer to look at what they do right and commend them for trying to get the angling public more involved in their favorite fishery.

Great lake but i bet their will be a lot of negative surveys. The fish tend to be grouped up for me or all on one specific pattern. Curious to see if they change the length limit. Most of the fish we catch are 3-5lbs

I wish they would go to 7(c) on all "non-tournament" lakes

I took the survey. I like fishing Naconiche, it has become my favorite lake, except for the wasp. One thing I really like is no jet skis.
Don Chumley If I ain't fishing, I ain't happy. But mostly I'm happy. I love being retired, the check is in the mail. Mt. 6:33

Survey in. Nice little lake but no lodging worthwhile.

We have had great participation in the survey so far, many thanks! We will run the survey for another couple weeks or so. Please help spread the word regarding survey participation with other Lake Naconiche anglers.

I'm with ya on the wasps. With them building nests 2-4 feet above the water, one really has to pay attention and not let the wind/waves bump your boat into a nest. I'd be swimming for sure. But then, I hear there are leaches in the lake. Lesser of two evils........
And yes, no jetskis.
Has the hydrilla come back strong like it used to be?
