I'm looking to book a private offshore charter out of Port A in August for 6 guys in the $1,500 range. Does anyone have any suggestions? We probably want to catch anything but Kings and Snapper.

$1500 for 6 guys isn't going to get you much more than kings in close from any decent, reputable charter. By the time the fuel bill is covered for going out farther and chasing pelagics in a bigger boat there wouldn't be much for the captain to make a profit and live on. Not saying you won't find one for that price but beware what you get.

Honestly, if we can get into some ling, wahoo, dorado, tuna or amberjack, I think our crew would be more than happy. Pretty much anything but mackerel, grouper/snapper, or billfish (although catching one would be pretty cool!). Just trying to get some fun action with some good table fare Would we have to go off very far to accomplish that? (Aka 40+ miles)

Yes 40+ miles for sure. Amberjack would probably be pretty easy, wahoo are pretty spotty in the summer time, maybe some blackfin tuna on a daytrip, dorado and ling are always a possibility but never a given.

AJ season opens August 1 so you should do well. If you want to take six guys you need to rethink $1,500. You will need a large vessel unless you plan on taking turns which is not much fun. Not sure why you would not want snapper (reds will be closed others open) they are great eating and you can catch them quick and then move onto other species. You might look into a private head boat charter. Don't laugh, I had a group of 9 that wanted to go together and we chartered the Pelican and they had a blast. Caught snapper, dolphin, ling and a couple of blackfin. There are smaller head boats as well.
Common carp 26 Goldfish 9.78lb Mirror Koi 14lb Koi 16lb Channel Catfish 26lbs Blue Cat 30lb Bass 9.5lb

Yes but I'm out of Port O'Connor. Sorry I don't have any suggestions for Port Aransas.
