two anchors keeps you from turning in the current. very helpful when two people are fishing and casting in the same direction. i personally like power pole because i've had the same one for about 10 yrs and i believe it's more flexible. i have one pp on the transom and a po-pole on the front for the same reason.

If you are fishing a shallow bay or shallow water that is open to the wind, many of us fish a single anchor and that allows the boat to turn and prevents waves from striking the boat on either the port or starboard sides. We are often fishing 360 degrees and it is not necessary to keep the boat pointed in only one direction.
A lot of the bass guys are fishing in narrow channels or coves or out of the wind and instead of fishing 360 degrees off the boat, they are specifically fishing only off the bow and are often targeting a very small area of water. Therefore, they do not want their boat rotating and want to stay pointed in the exact direction and use two anchors to hold both position and direction.

I've wondered the same thing. My used boat had twin PP and I love them, very useful in certain conditions. My curiosity is when spending over 40K on a new boat and only buy one power pole or talon that's what I don't get. I personally like the symmetry and it will help with resale as well. Just my 2 cents.

Symmetry means nothing to me, it is all about usability. I prefer only one. I don't like the Talon as it is never out of the way. I don't want clients breaking rods off hitting it, so in deeper water I sometimes have to put it down just to get it out of the way.
Since I don't fish for largemouth ever, and am never fishing deep in a cove where it is calm, I use only one powerpole.

A bunch of my buddies and plenty of guides I've met are running one. I've had none and now 2 so I can't speak to how one would work. We fished okeechobee with a guide with one talon and it was fine. We flip shallow cover and having them has been great.
