that only means he has nothing else to do, but push you around. Yes it does state Free floating and in Louisiana where my friends fish, yes they only use a weight that will hold the line down, and set them out and run them all day, they Never leave them out over nite. But we have all been Jugging for years, and I have seen Many Jugs with Heavy Float anchors... so What does that mean. kind of like the Front License plate issue... I will look to see if OK rules are diff. Hmmmm.

Makes no sense. Think about it. Say you want to fish five feet deep so you put a 1/2 ounce weight at 4 1/2 feet down to keep your bait low. You could throw that out in 100 foot of water. If it floats to the bank in less than four feet is it suddenly illegal? No. Free floating has to mean you can grab it and move it without having to untie it.
That's my interpretation of it any way.

i was intested in the answer my self and tired to look it up the book says mush be attacked to Free floating jug but is doe not say anything about the wight on the bottom But on a few web sites No these are just forums the say that as soon as the weigh touches the bottom it is consider and anchored jugline this law leves it open to interpolations you may ask 3 people and get 3 different answers if they want to make a law or regulation make it clean so there is no room for interpretations i age that a fee flouting is just that Free to move were the wind pushes it. this my be a way for the Wardens to hd out tickets to guys how leave them out there for ever. that i just my option i think it is better to ear on the side of caution till you contact game and wild life and get the answer
