Headed to bolivar 2nd week in June looking to try for shark mostly will have yaks an some 6/0 penn reels
Any tips will there be sharks in the shallows ?

What part of bolivar will you be? Bay side or Gulf side? by high island, crystal beach?

Haven't decided yet prolly crystal beach to start up depends on where the fish are at I guess

how big of a hook will you be using? line?

I'd stay around the High Island area. Too much traffic/swimmers around Crystal Beach. Try to find you a day when the wind is light out of the East or Southeast. Stagger your lines and find a depth that is consistent. Change baits often. A lot of people think sharks just eat anything and everything which is a huge misconception. It's not as easy as people think. I have 4 sharks rods that are yak'd out and I'll normally start with 4 different type baits if I have them. Stingray, whole mullet, ladyfish and sandtrout for example. The Sharks will tell you what they want. Make sure your line/gear is up to par so you don't burned. And once again, keep your bait fresh. When fishing the surf near high island how do you find the 1st and 2nd sandbar? do you fish between the 1st and 2nd or the 2nd and the 3?
