I'll be at lake fork the last week of April with 20 guys from Illinois Most are bass fishermen but a couple of the older guys(78 and 81) Made me promise to take them crappie fishin a couple says. 2 years we tried a few bridges with very little luck. I tried to get them to hire a guide and of course they Have been fishin longer than any guide and want no Part if that. Anyhow, I get to spend 2 days with these good ol boys We'll have a good time but any help to get these guys in fish Would sure make my life easier. We're staying near mustang.

Pattern has been fish holding 5-10 ft. I doubt that changes much by then. Look for fish holding on timber near channels coming off spawning areas. Mustang and Little Mustang should have fish holding on those big stumps. Look in Williams Creek also.

Late April to early May ...your best option to catch numbers would be fishing brush in 10-12'. There are plenty of brush piles in and around Mustang.

Were going to be in an older boat the electronics are ok at best. But, we'll dive in at that depth and see what happens. Is the brush around the stumps and trees or usually around open water?

Mr.rochie I would love the help. Saturday the 25 th is the first morning I'm taking one of the old guys out. We call him Tuffy. He's 85 and most likely he's gonna take a nap at some point. There's a bar and grill near a bridge near mustang, are you familiar with it?

This is what I have found and what I am keying on. A small wave of fish spawned during the last full moon. Those fish that have spawned, have moved out to 14 to 18 FOW and have been suspended 7 to 10 foot down on cover. I am seeing a large mass of fish still holding in the typical pre-spawn patterns and will move in to spawn the week of the next full moon. The pre spawn females that I am catching are holding in the 7 to 12 FOW and look like they may blow up any min, their so fat. I also am finding pre spawn fish holding in deeper water suspended on cover (as seen in the picture below) but, these fish seem to be inactive or only feed for a very short time each day. I hope this confused you because it has been a great challenge for me this year also! Good luck.

That might work. Most of the older guys head home Wednesday. But if we've stumbled on nothing I would still love the help. I'll touch base with you early in the week and see if we can get together.
