4/15/15 Report as promised. Sorry it's not better I'm exhausted. Hadn't fished our home lake in some time. The bite was no existant in the morning. The after noon it picked up. Bonehead Stump Bugs is what they wanted. Stump Bugs have proven to be sammich makers on Lavon. 2 fish were just over 2# and of coarse I swung them in the boat with Bonehead 12# braid. It was tuff to say the least but I was happy to see lady Lavon waking up. I was using the 1.75" and double tied with 1/8 on bottom 1/16 on top. They were hammering the top jig.
Great question.
I could feel them pushing the jig but weren't feeding. So I just aggravated the Heck out of them till they bit. Best bites can when I twitched the line with my finger after I felt one push the bait.
I fished 2' with Bobber minnow, single stumps, submergerd timber... Everything I could think of that time would allow till I found a bite. Fun but exhausting day.

Lavon 4/18/15 Got on Lavon this afternoon and looked around a bit till Jon Vines and Richard James made it to the ramp. We targeted cover in 17' of water. The pattern I found on Thursday. We boated 7 keepers and missed a couple before the storm chased us of the water. I had so much fun with these two buddies I'd had swore we had 30 toads in the live well. I had a blast! As I drove them back to the ramp I picked them up at Joey Moon saw me pass by and invited us to eat crawfish. What a great day. Lots of thunderstorms popping up in North Texas. Be aware and check the radar periodically. [/URL[URL=http://s46.photobucket.com/user/texascrappieguide/media/IMAG1706_zps1xnngzcm.jpg.html]

Thanks , but it's some tough fishing. There are fish down there I'm just convinced there isn't much of a feeding pattern during the day. The key to an occasional thump is to fish super slow. Feel the cover with your jig then when your confedent the jig is resting off a limb keep it still then twitch the line subtlety. They'll bite out of aggrivation. I figure the slow day reports are as priceless as the epic day reports. Make sure to invite good company and a great trip is inevitable! I prefer little ridge. The courtesy dock is even usable.
