I bought a movie making program and am having an impossible time figuring it out. I can capture the clips I want....I can edit them fine....but can't burn it on to a disc.

I originally used a cd-r to burn on to...and that worked EXCEPT...the dvd player wouldn't recognize it. So I bought an internal dvd burner and blank dvd-r's. When I click on "burn movie" it kicks the dvd-r back out and says please insert correct media type. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help?

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

Is this an older DVD player? Can you play the DVD on your computer?

Some of the older DVD players will not recognize some of the formats of DVD (either -r or +r), while some of the newer DVD players will recognize both (-r +r) formats.

As far as your DVD burner, you may be required to use +r (I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue). I know that I can not burn video to -r format DVD's, but it might be possible that it is the software I/you are using to drive the DVD, and by contacting your computer manufacture or upgrading your driver, you might be able to change formats (again check with your manufacture). Do you try and burn using a Dell computer (although with todays mass produced systems, it is not always certain if the burners on two different computers by the same computer manufacture are the same)?

make sure your blank DVD is formatted to accept the movie.
