Comal River at Panda Park Golf course in New Braunfels - about a 2.5-pounder on a Jitterbug at dawn from the bank on the 2nd fairway. I think I was 10.

I remember the first bass I caught on an artificial lure. It was in the late 50s at Lake O' The Pines (new lake then). Caught in on an old wooden Creek Chub Injured Minnow - it was about the same size as the lure. It was the only lure I owned, other than a couple of hand-me-down H&H's.
I thought it was a monster. I was probably 8-9 years old. My dad was in the front of the boat and said something like "We came here to catch white perch, not bass. Go ahead and put him on the stringer if you want".

55 years ago...White Rock Lake. Purple worm with my grandfather. 55 years later and I pulled a couple of 2 pounders out of White Rock last week just goofing around for an hour or so!

I honestly cannot remember. Haha. I know my first fish was a catfish. But, then again, I couldn't tell us how many bass I caught today. The first today was about a 1 1/2 pounder at 7am. The last was about sunset this evening. It was around 1 pound. Haha. Spent 30 hours on the water this weekend. And people wonder how I have a full time job AND I fish more hours a week than I work.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Not sure how old I was, probably about 9 or 10. In the early 1990s it was at a Cub Scout fishing tournament at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster (just south of Dallas). One of the adults at the tournament was showing the scouts how to fish with a spinnerbait and I caught a 2.2 pound largemouth, winning me first place for largest fish. I also caught a smaller bass after that but don't remember the weight. I won a ribbon and a Shakespeare spinning combo. Somewhat unrelated, but my younger brother one first place in the panfish category at the tournament with a 1 pound redear sunfish.

I was about 14-15 and it was at lake palestine fishing for crappie, I was sitting on a pier just as some people put their boat in. And he took off with my minnow. He tasted pretty good.

No clue how old I was but definitely pretty young. Off the dock in my back yard, Bayou Desiard, Monroe, LA. Snoopy rod and reel. Some kinda crankbait. My brother had to land it for me.
