I've seen the same thing catfishing. While fishing two poles I caught fish when the guys with 5-6 poles couldn't bank a single fish. One guy came over and asked what bait I was using. Turned out we were using the same bait. I was just paying attention to my business.

yeah they seem to be pole crazy! And if you catch a fish they get shoulder to shoulder with you in the spot so I have learned to be quick and silent when landing a fish!

What gets me is they will spread those 8 rods over half the barge and then get upset if anybody fishes anywhere near the unattended rods. roflmao

If the barge was crowded I simply asked whose rods are these. When the owner spoke up I asked, which spot do you intend to fish, where you are at or here. Because I intend to fish one of these spots but will allow you the choice of which spot you want to fish.

I'm glad I have my own slip again so I don't encounter this type of jerk.

I would give them tips on how I am catching them and ask them to move their poles so I can show them. Once I caught one, I move on the next "spot" and give tips again, and so on until there are no more fish left. lol sneaky huh?

hey Ruff,u brought back fun memories when my dad was living....he'd be at the front of the boat, only way i'd know he caught one,i'd see ripples on the water from the front of the boat,i'd yell, whatcha doing up there? with a lil sly grin on his face,he'd pull up his basket showing me his catch.he's own lil stealth mode, lol!
