Fished just south of Miller yesterday afternoon and this morning. Only took 4 fish in the 12" range. Caught quite a few, even more keepers, but released all. TONS of small fish in the creek. Used tiny spinners. I'm tying some flies this evening and look forward to flyfishing for the sandies over the next few days. If you see me on the river, feel free to say hello. I'm the only guy you'll see using a 10' noodle rod (can cast mini-spinners a mile w/4 lb) or an original ATH reel on my flyrod.

I did see some snakes!!! One really good sized one swimming across the creek up river from me so I could see what kind it was. It's not like there's a snake every few yards, but they are around, so keep a lookout for them...especially on warmer days.

I did see some snakes!!!...

You doing any good with the long rod? I been thinking about using the one I have and "dip" my way along.Seems like a good way to keep the bait in the target area.

Warmer weather brings the snakes out. Dang copper heads like trails for some reason. They can be aggressive and are poisonous.

I think the entire Rowlett Creek greenbelt has more copperheads per acre than any other place on Earth. Could be worse, they could be rattle snakes.

Fished just below the bridge at Miller today and caught quite a few small whites, almost one every other cast. Then tried a spot closer to the mouth and caught tons of yellow bass and drum all on jigs. Still waiting to see some females move in.

Caught two crappies and some small whites below the bridge at Miller. Also one big fish was on hook, but my line eventually was broken as I forgot to loose the drag. Not sure if it's a hybrid or not.

Definitely females in the creek, saw males harassing the ladies along the bank, just couldn't catch any last round. I was thinking about heading out in the morning but I'm thinking it's too muddy after the last round of rain.
