I'm thinking about buying an Ion camera and was wondering what some of yall use to edit and add music to your videos? I need something user friendly as I'm way behind the curve on technology.

Windows Movie Maker is probably the best choice if you are editing for the first time.

Agree, with a Windows based computer, Windows Movie Maker is easy and free. Windows 8 does not come with it pre installed, just download it from the Windows website for free if your version of Windows didn't come with it prepackaged. Watch a couple youtube videos on how to edit on windows movie maker and you will be set.

Most pc comes with Windows Movie maker and the basic Imovie is free on the Mac or a Ipad.
But honesty, Windows Movie maker not only does the minimum, it is extremely slow, compresses your videos which lower it's quality and is a pain to use because of how much it limits what you can do. I heard Imovie is a little better but I doubt a free software could offer much more then the extreme basic. But if all you need is simple, the most basic editing of a short video, then you can probably live with the free programs.

There are lots of different options in the 50-100 dollar range that will get the job done, but then you have to do the research and see if each individual software offers the feature you are looking for.

Personally, I use Sony Vegas Pro, it's the all in one in video editing and the $300-800 price tag reflects it's superiority. While it's super easy to use for simple editing, the price tag is only justified if you are going to do some serious editing.

Go with the Cyberlink PowerDirector. User friendly...but gives a lot more freedom than those mentioned above...

our website homepage gives a few examples of this software in action.

Best word of advice is buy what you can afford. The more memory the better and a good video card as well.
