According to the USGS site Fork has come up 7.2 inches since January 1...but only 1.8 inch since the latest rains began Wednesday.

with the temps in the upper 60's low 70's sunny and nites down to mid 40's should push temps up to maybe 51-53 and the bass on the move by the end of the week

I found 55- 56 way up in Birch past the power lines last Tues. Water was chocolate milk, and didn't mark hardly any bait fish or anything.

Not a bite. It was hard to find fish. I finally found fish in three different areas. One area, the fish were positioned just right, on the upper edge of a creek channel with a ball of Shad close by (26 FOW). I just knew it was about to be on... Nope. Drug a football jig threw them/ stroked a jig, dropped a flutter spoon right on top of their heads, crankbait, rattle trap... Nothing. I also ran shallow targeting the warm side of rocks/concrete, then the last hour tried shallow again in coves with deep water close by trying to pick up a bite... Again nada. It was nice to be back on the water though. The cabin fever was getting to me!

Give it two weeks and the fish will start to bite. January is a really tuff month to fish out there... Its a good time to get prepared for the season which starts for me in two weeks!
