Thanks man, always love feedback form everyone on here!
The Falcon Lowrider is a 7' Med-heavy with a fast tip. The Dobyns is a 7'3" Med-heavy with a fast tip. Really any medium or med-heavy will "multi-task" as long as it has a fast tip. That means it has a lighter tip to throw lighter or less aerodynamic lures and still have the backbone in the rod to fish heavier lures and heavier cover. The faster(lighter) tips also make for a much more sensitive rod. Of all the M-H rods I have the Dobyns 734 & Falcon Lowrider Lizard Dragger just feel right to me for just about any application. Go to Falcon or Dobyns website and they breakdown the lengths, actions and intended applications. Good place to start but I think people often get too limited in what they think(or what the manufacturer wants them to think) different rods are sutible for. Years ago we simply picked a rod we liked and stuck with it. If we were lucky we had several of the same rods for "all applications". I wonder why rod manufacturers want us to think we need a different rod for every lure in our box? wink

I appreciate all the advice. And in fact I have been using a Bucoo lizard dragger in some applications. Came in real handy at Falcon lake with a 3/4 oz spinnerbait, DT10 and DT14 crankbait that hauled in a few 6 and 7 pounders just fine. Just almost doesn't seem right with that lizard dragger printed on the side????? Also have a couple old all-star classics 6'6 MH that does well with spinnerbaits and small squarebills.... Just didn't know if something new in the past couple of years was out there. And they do want you to feel like we need a special rod for each lure, as well as special line and for that matter you better get that special reel with the special ratio??????? I watched my grand daddy haul in hundreds of 3,4,5 pound fish with zebco 202s, 33s, 404s with ten pound test. I should know better!

7' MH Fast and 7' Medium Moderate-fast Abu Garcia Vendetta would literally cover all the fishing I could do just fine, with an orra sx and orra winch.... would be the cheapest 2 rigs I'd say money could buy and do a satisfactory job of accomplishing everything pretty much. You'd be under $400 invested spooled up and just add tackle

Depends on your budget if you're looking for brand.
I prefer a 6'6" M-MH with a fast tip, spinning rod with 20-30 braid,
I can add either 8 feet of mono if I want to throw topwaters, or swap out and
put on 8' of flouro for dropshot, trig, or crig. I love the Ugly Sticks for this.

Going to echo a previous poster's Falcon 1610 recommendation. I have 3 Falcon Cara 1610's and use them for weighless plastics, as a light T Rig and jig rod, also as a top water and crank bait rod.The 1610 is perhaps my favorite of a dozen Caras. The Amistad runs a close second.
Incidentally, those recommending the Falcon Lizard Dragger might want to specify either the Dragger I or II rod.Lizard Dragger I is a 6 power; II is a 7 power.

For the "all around multi purpose" rod it's the Lizard Dragger 1

7.3 Duckett White Ice micro guides don't work well with braid to floro knot but a really good all around rod..Recently bought the Duckett Terex 7.3 has conventional line guides I'm liking it better ever time I use it. With a new chronarc its very well balanced.
