Went out crappie fishing on the 28th, it was cold, the bite was slow and in 6 hours of fishing into the late late night, only managed 2 keeper and 2 under but along the way was also able to get this 21 pound blue.(My little bro's amazing camera work)  went back out on the 29th hoping for better luck. it was almost as cold and a 7inch crappie is all i managed. was ready to give up and call it a night at 9pm, checked the minnow on a rod, the minnow was dead but too cold for me to switch so dropped the line back in the water and about ready to pack and leave. not even a minute passed, the rod bend in half and all hell broke lose. not sure what i hooked until it jumped and realized I might have a lake record on the line. the beast weights a tad over 11 pounds, 28.5 inches long with a 20inch girth.not a lake record but for someone who never learned how to target LMB and only catches 2-3 pounders on accident the DD club never crossed my mind.
