Coach and Greg headed out early and found some fish on the end of Long Ridge. They picked me up around 9:00 from Dons Port. If any one is curious about the ramp it is closed. We headed out to Spillway Hump from there and picked at a few. All three of us were rigged up with a minnow shaped slab on bottom and thump buddy above. Decided to head back to long ridge and as soon as we stopped it was fish on. Fast and furious for about 1o minutes then it slowed. Fish were 4-8 cranks off the bottom. Fish were small to ok size, only a few really good sized ones. Greg kept a few choice ones but the rest are still swimming. We checked several spots around long ridge and picked at them the rest of the day. The morining was cool, breezy and foggy. Afternoon the wind sat down and it got sunny. Method was dead stick and every once in a while give it a small bounce. got a lot of hits on the bounce. Missed as many fish as we caught, have to have a ninju hook set to get em. Managed 76 on the clicker. Just a couple of pics.

Looks nice out there in your photos. Went out to the lake on Sunday to check things out and the lake looked like a beating. Glad you guys got to catch a few before the wind got serious. Thanks for sharing!!

FYI - i know everyone is deadsticking but i am having good luck getting large hybrids with large colorado bladed spinner baits - with skirts or swim baits - caught several over 20 inches late monday - outside of coves on SE end of lake where there are steep dropoffs - dons port info is unfortunate - there is another boat launch on SE end of lake if you can find someone with ownership access.

I tried Don's Port Saturday, and it was indeed, closed. Anyone know when it might re-open? I might give them a call today.

OK, I called them. Lone Star (Don's Port) is "hoping" to have floating docks complete by end of January, but the gal I talked to was not sure exactly when the dock will open back up. That's put me high and dry until they open, unless I drive around to Log Cabin.

Just curious what the interest would be in another boat ramp about 3 miles south from Don's Port _ it exists and is being used but would have to approach a homeowners' association.

I'd gladly pay $10 to launch there, maybe more if we don't get rain soon!

I will contact the homeowners association - no promises but this quick of a response should have some influence - if I could I would let everyone use it - not about the money for me, but I have to be able to approach them with something monetary to get their attention. Will begin working on it this weekend.

Yes, I'm definitely in for $10 a launch. I'd use it every Saturday or Sunday, until Don's Port/Lone Star opens back up.
