I have been a long time bass fisherman. When I was a kid my dad would take me white bass and hybrid fishing on lake Belton and I want to take my wife and sons fishing on Buchanan. The only problem is I run a 18 foot Triton and so casting with the 3 of them will equal disaster. I found a bait well on Craigslist and have a cast net so my question is where after sun up is a good place to look for shad this time of year?

I don't know about Belton or Buchanan, but I was at Granger this past Sunday, temperature was at 60's, I was able to net some shad at the boat ramp, kind of surprise to me since I thought they are going deep already. With the cold front coming, I would think they will go back to deep zone or, in the shallow creek after sunrise.

Try creeks if there is any left. Buch was always a pretty easy place to scare up some bait.
