Anyone else experienced their talon tilt bracket wearing loose over time. I have had mine for a year or so and it has worked real loose in the latch area. It's about as stealthy as a bulldozer when driving down the lake.
Any fixes other than buying a new one?

Will tightening the bolts and nuts not help ? Worked like a champ on mine. Being an industrial mechanic for over 30 years I can tell you that bolts do stretch especially in high vibration situations like a boat exposes them to. Part of my boat maintenance was to go around my rig about once or twice a year and check every bolt on it for tightness. You'd be surprised at what you will find that has worked loose. Usually once the bolts have gone through the initial stretch phase they are not as likely to work loose especially if they are installed with lock nuts or some sort of thread locking compound like Loctite........

It's not the bolt area on mine. It's the area where it latches in the up position.

Clint same issue here. I sent a video of the looseness (and squeakiness) of mine to one of the Minn Kota pro staffers and he suggested I contact Minn Kota service directly. He hadn't seen the issue before. I'll try to do so this week.

Customer service should be able to help. Not sure if I understand the issue correctly, but I believe they redesigned the pin on the tilt brackets. Please let us know the fix once you get it resolved.

It could be a material hardness issue if that be the case. I've seen this in other situations where a mfg purchases raw material to build a product and they are getting the wrong hardness material from their vendor and don't know it. This usually happens when the vendor for the raw material is low on the type of material spec'd for an item and they fill the order with something similar but different.......but Quality Assurance should catch this.........

Just got off the phone with Johnson Outdoors customer service. They were aware of some issues with some earlier tilt brackets. Once they confirmed my proof of purchase, they told me they'd email me a return shipping label. I will box up the two brackets, slap the label on it, and drop them off at FedEx. When they confirm FedEx has them the will ship me two replacement units free of charge. Wow! Now that my friend is customer service.

Thanks for the info. I have the same issue with mine. Gonna send it in while I have the bracket off. I was switching it to another boat so it's a good time to get it replaced.
