because I caught the only two fish in the county! Yuma, Arizona. Here because of work and brought my fishing gear. Fishing from the banks of the Colorado river, caught 2 3-4 lb. channel cats in the first 20 minutes, using LK punch bait. The next 20 hours yielded nothing else. Ran out of LK and it's not sold locally. I tried everything I could think of. Chicken livers, hot dogs, live bait, cut bait, dip bait, shallow water, deep water, slow water, fast water, short rig, long rig, Santee rig, Nada.
The big clue: Not a single other bank fisherman.
The good: Beautiful country, beautiful skies, and a low temp of 62.
Dry as north Texas is, this area are only gets 2-3 inches per year. All the water comes down from the Rockies via the Colorado river. I'm ready to get back to my home lake.

Your story brings back memories. Was stationed out there in the 70s. Went fishing with some guys one day on the river. They were catching very small fish and said fishing was "fantastic". Everything they were catching were fish we would have thrown back at home. Could not wait to get back to Texas to do some real fishing.

Caught 8 blues in less than 2 hrs. from the shore of Tawakoni, last Sunday, Nov.9th, using Danny Kings.
