Crappie Anglers of Texas will have an open tournament on Bob Sandlin, Dec 6th. Don't have to be a CAT member to fish. Entry is $50 per boat,cash only; $5 goes to big fish pot. Cash only since all money is being paid out. Pay out is 1 in 5 places. Start time 7am, line out of the water 2pm, be in weigh in line by 2:30pm. Weigh in at Big Earls. Sign up 5:30-6am at Big Earls. Fishing Bob Sandlin only. CAT rules apply.

May be a little far for some to drive, but there should be some good fish caught. Come on to Sandlin and catch a good mess of fish for the freezer and have some fun.

Sandlin's been a slab fest here latley w/easy limits to be had. Would like to fish it, but isn't CAT catch & release or live weigh in, or sumth'n or another?

Fish do not have to be alive for weigh-in. Weigh in 7 fish.

Glad to hear the fish are biting on Sandlin. That's the reason we're going there. Good time to stock up on some cold water fish. Hope the bite holds, should get better with these cold temps.

OOPS! Correction above. Fish DO NOT have to be alive for weigh in. So one less excuse for not fishing this one. Big Earl's usually has the best price on a lb of minnows I've seen anywhere. Come enjoy fishing and the camaraderie.

Don't forget the fun tournament this Sat on Bob Sandlin. If the forecast holds true, wind will be light north (2-3mph) and rain chance 20%, and temps 55-65. Should be plenty of good fish caught.

Looking at the map, Big Earl's is on the other side of Pittsburg from the lake. Am I looking at the wrong place or is there another one on the lake?

Big Earl's is at the intersection of Hwy 11 and FM 1521; about 2-3 miles west of Pittsburg on the south side of the lake.

Would love to fish this since I am now retired and want to get back on the CAT circuit but am on lockdown until my daughter dominoes with my grandson.
