That is a small bluefish. I guess you could use for shark or anything you would use cut bait for. Red may pick it up but never heard of it. Most people would release it to get bigger. Some people eat these. I dont like them they are a real oily meat.

Eats very similar to Spanish mackerel. Popular on the east coast where they get pretty big. Good shark bait like the previous poster stated.

Not a game fish so yes, you can use it for bait if you want.

Looks like a bluefish or ladyfish. Very good shark bait.

I tried using it for bait, didn't get any hits... Took some home to try and deep fried it up whole, passed the taste test! Lol

Put a large circle hook through its back on an 8 ounce knocker rig throw it out, feed some line out and wait for the rod to bend.
