My family is staying at the Villages this weekend so I am taking the grandson and father-in-law fishing Saturday or Sunday and was hoping someone would PM me some help. I usually bass fish the north part of the lake, not familiar with the deep end. I understand the whites and hybrids are good on that end of the lake.
Thanks for your help!

White bass hang on top of and at the ends of the old 155 submerged bridges, which are about 10 yards south of and parallel to the existing main Hwy 155 bridge over the lake. The bridge tops are about 15 fow.

Drive an extra hour and go to Fork. If you're targeting them, you can probably catch 200 in a day easily.

You may get some whites and junior hybrids at the 155 Road bed but it seems like this has been the slowest year there I have seen since started fishing Palestine. Significantly less traffic and much less fish caught. In years past you could see boats trolling and catching lots of fish all summer but not so much this year. Will have some days where will find decent concentrations on the north bridge around post marked Rd but really hit or miss. Have caught more under hybrids there than anything. Most consist spot for me for last 3 months has been Smith Point in 10-15 fow but even that has been hit or miss. Had a pretty good day there about 2 weeks ago. Have done alright there on small slabs worked slow but have seen some guys do really well with divers and small spoons. Last week caught small whites and under hybrids every cast off the end of boat slips all the way back in saline bay by the 344 bridge when they were schooling late morning. Took off in the boat and never found fish rest of day. Last weekend we looked everywhere around flat creek island and never marked anything. Haven't made it all the way down to the dam but have fished as far down as chimney creek on south end and it has just not been very good at all for us. I'm sure someone is catching them, but the normal spots they have been in years past they just aren't there in the same numbers this year. Good luck putting your grandson on fish and post up a report if you do any good.
