I've been thinking about replacing the drags on a couple reels, & after poking around found this site that sells drag washers made of carbon fiber which supposedly makes the line feed out smoothly while hauling in a fish. Just wanted to know if anyone has purchased from this site before? Is it worth replacing the plastic washers? Thanks a bunch

In a word, yes. Dawn at Smoooth Drag is great as is her product. Don't forget the Cal's grease

My Lews came with carbon fiber washers... yes, they are awesome. Actually, carbon washers are designed to be run dry. The carbon is the lubricant.

100%
If Dawn can't set your reel up by application, she can do it by dimensions so break out the calipers
plenty of youtube tutorials on how to grease CF washers. use Cal's drag grease, no substitute. it's actually to keep salt from impegnating itself into the carbon fibers in this application prepare for a little more preload to attain the same drag #'s, & also a shortening in adjustment range. fantastic once dialed in.

Pretty sure all higher end reel now come with carbon fiber drags. I will not even pick up a reel without them now. Why buy a 60$ reel and put 20$ of drag disks in it when you can spend 100$ on a reel that will be killer.
