If the small ones are showing up, the big ones are around there somewhere. Good report. Thanks.

I will be putting my v hull out there soon, maybe we can gang up on some bass and some bigger crappie.

Would love to meet you and tag-team some fish, Rudy! I have the feeling it would be a very educational experience for me smile

Went on Sunday morning, beautiful start to the day. Water reflected perfectly. Tried some plastics but didn't get any action. Still was nice to be out for a little while.

Saw a beaver again, lives in the creek somewhere. After he swam by I decided I probably wasn't going to get anything in the area.

hit it this morning in my v hull with one of my fishing buds, retired Chef Lupe. I picked up 4 crappie that got in the boat, only one a keeper. Hung two hefty specimens that DID NOT make it into the boat, as they chose to spit my 1/32nd. oz. chatreuse/black jig on an UNPAINTED jig head. MOST DEFINITELY KEEPER SLABS, so they are there. Got my crappie vertical jigging in my sunken Christmas trees, about 12 ft down, and they were right off the bottom.

So from there we worked the shorelines in search of LMB's. We found a few, but biggest that got in the boat was a 12 incher. Every fish was returned to its native habitat.

THEN--JUST BEFORE WE DECIDED TO CALL IT A MORNING: 7 inch Berkley Red Shad Power Worm, worked slowly in the rocks on Shorecrest, at the foot of the Love Field Runways-- I get the worm about 2 ft from the boat, am about to lift it out of the water for one last cast, when BAM-- a HUMONGOUS BASS, EASILY 7-8 LBS, JUST MONSTROUS Attacks that worm like a World War II Kamikaze pilot zeroed in on an aircraft carrier! WHAM! and just that sudden it was over! He won! I was absolutely stunned at the size of that bass!!! When we got to shore I had to go to the porta potty to check myself, luckily I was clean, lol!

That lake is just amazing considering the size and location. TPW&D does outstanding work keeping it stocked so the quality of the fishery does not diminish!

Going back. Big crappie are there and I am gonna get em! BTW the cormorants are back by the hundreds, if not thousands, and that is a sign that the Real Crappie season is upon us!

Lake may be in process of turning over. Went up into the "cove" near spillway and by the Water Treatment plant on lower end of lake, and water had an Algae like(but no algae)greenish tinge to it and smelled heavily of shad/fish! That is usually a sign(n Bachman anyway) that the lake is in turnover mode. Still picked up a couple of small bass, but once turnover is done, fishing should pop!

I was also there Sunday fishing for carp, but my son and i were also throwing inline spinners and flukes and we were consistenly catching half pound bass and bream. Probably 15 between the two of us.

We also caught Carp between 2 and 20 lbs, so a very good day!

NO. this is a small, very small urban lake, and if you put a skeeter in there, you may not be able to turn it around, lol! Max hp is 10, and if you put a bass boat in it, you may have to run it in neutral. I would look for a bigger lake that can accommodate a boat that size.
