Headed to the Brook this morning, wasn't going home till I caught a limit. Had my limit about noon, then culled about 10 fish till 1:30, leaving me with everything over 11". All caught on jigs, mostly hand ties, a few came on Mike's custom jigs. I know one of the bigger fish did. A few came off the dam, but most out of timber, 10-14'. Took a vacation day tomorrow, and after I take the little one to kindergarden, I hope to do it again.

Good job Jeff. I am so anxious to drop your wobble head. Just wish my home lake was worth a damn so I can see/feel the action.

which ramp did you launch at? I heard it was really low on bb. I launch at the Mustang ramp. According to my fishfinder and my maps, I have an offset of 20'. It is pretty low, but seems it stays low, ever since that water pipeline.

Good job Jeff. I am so anxious to drop your wobble head. Just wish my home lake was worth a damn so I can see/feel the action. They really don't wobble too much. Just a gentle side to side. After I tied those two, for the swap, I tied me one extra to try out. First drop, I got them hung up , both together, and lost them. I like the way they kind of glide a little on the fall. I haven't tied me too many of them. I have about 40 poured, and will probably use them for the crawfish jigs for the next swap.

Good job. I have fond memories of fishing BB for crappie during the 80's.
There was a wood stake bed in the cove that held the dam boat ramp that always produced nice crappie. And it was sheltered from the wind on the bad wind days.
I checked for a slip there last year but was told I would not be able to use the boat part of the year if I leased there. So I passed and went to Joe Pool instead.

I heard it was really low on bb. seems it stays low, ever since that water pipeline. I guess that's what we have to look forward to on Palestine! I just hope the 3 counties that maintain the public ramps around the lake have foresight enough to extend them before they become useless! Back when the drought pulled the lake down over 6' below spillway, one of the private ramp ($5 to the public) owners extended theirs about 15-20 feet so at least we'll have 1 useable launch (except in the Summer when everyone in the Metro-Mess wants to keep their lawns nice & green). Sorry Jeff! Didn't mean to hijack your post. Great job buddy! Hope BB "Plays Nice" with you again today!
