Good job. Had the right equipment and cannot beat a juicy shad for bait.

does proctor have a public boat ramp? im a tarleton student and was wondering if that was a decent place to bank fish?

It's not about the cards you're dealt, but how you play the hand.

I haven't been there in a long time but you can drive right down to the dam and fish the banks, lot of good fish have been pulled from the bankline

Only ramp open due to low water levels is Sowell Creek which is plenty steep; 4 wheel drive is not a must but would be highly adviseable if you have a heavy boat. Bank fishing at the dam for cats will get good about mid to late November. Sowell Creek has some good bank fishing spots as well as the rip rap which is accessible from Sowell Creek day use. Fishing brush piles and rocks with punch bait under a slip bobber in 3' to 6' of water has been productive for channel cat. If we ever get any rain to bring the lake back up the crappie fishing at the dam, Copperas Creek pier, and Promotory pier can be very productive.

Thanks guys I'm hoping to head out to the damn sometime this week or next. Will I have any chance catching bait from the bank?

I have been catching plenty of shad from the bank before daylight the past few mornings; after the sun comes up it has been hit and miss.
