What has been producing at EM? I haven't fished for sandies in a few years and was wondering if I could get any advice.

Thanks,
Blayne Wallace

I haven't fished for them at EM in a couple of months. And haven't heard of any good reports from there either. I've been going to Ray Roberts. Good luck and let us know how you do. Maybe sandjohnny will get that new boat out soon and help us find them.

Very small swim baits have been producing the few fish I have caught there lately. It has been tough to scratch out a limit lately that's for sure.

Maybe its just been me... but Eagle Mountain all year long has been poor at best. I got one limit one time every other time it has been a few fish here and few fish there.... and the fish I did catch were thin and small (looks like they hadnt had a meal in awhile).

I am guessing the shad kill over the winter did a number on the fish.

Anybody else have the same results this year?

Fish will be back in the usual spots after lake turns over mid-October. Best months for slabbing are Feb thru May and mid-October thru November. I have seen a decline in population and size over the past 20 years. First year for skinny fish tho. Tight lines.

With several guides working the smallish lake, do you think it could have been over-fished?

Dennis,

We ain't that good, lol. Ten percent of my clients keep fish. The rest C&R. We have lots of boats on hotspots nowdays and years ago, none. If whites can be overharvested, which I doubt, EM would be a prime candidate. Hopefully, it's just a cycle lakes go thru along with low water.
