I don't understand. How do they work? What are the holes for? How do you sink them? Maybe I am naive, but I have never seen anything like that before.
The hardest thing about fishing is figuring out what the fish want to eat.

That's pretty cool lookin'! Are there any regulations one should know about prior to making one and sinking it in a public lake?

regulations--- do it at night.
Holes- to let the trapped air out. Sink it- with anything heavy..
Nice job, will have to make a few replicas for myself.

Very interesting!
Have you had any success with fish holding on these structures?

the holes are for tiny bait fish to hide out in, in turn attracts big crappie or bass or whatever. in the center is a piece of steel tied off to them so that it sinks. All the material is, is plastic drainage tubbing.
No i havent really tried these out yet. the two of them took me like two hours to make, real easy and cheap, just tie them together with zip ties

Uscgc's looks like it would hold alot of bait fish in the holes kind of the same way rocks would. But, Bassrustler you have a good idea about building one designed not to get you hung up. Both look good.

Brilliant design! I have been looking for something that was easy and quick to build and wasn't so hard to throw out from shore. A lot of local ponds I fish have no real cover, this looks like a great idea to use. I have been using wooden pallets but what a pain to carry and haul and load in a pond with minimal results.
This looks very good and can probably be added to, to make even taller, like a double decker design. Let us know how they do or if they end up snagging easy.
Great Job.

From where the ones above are placed and the depth, I presume a bass fisherman put them there. Usually most people sink them for crappie. All the bass need is a little bit of cover on the barren bank and they will hide in it.

I have used the drain pipe. Built them from what some kids were doing in BASS magazine. I found if you sink some limbs on top of them it works alot better!

that is where i got the idea, it was out of a bass magazine like two years ago. Clint were you in the magazine helping the kids put them together?
Well with the last picture posted, how many of you have marked on GPS spots like that for when the water comes back up?
