Has anyone used any spiral guide casting rods? Pros? Cons?

i've had a couple and don't not like em, but they just don't make good casting sense to me. looks like too much drag/resistance, on the other hand, they make great sense for fighting fish except for where the line wraps around the rod. looks like to me it rubs the rod when pulled side ways and braid running across graphite/fiberglass ain't good.

We call them acid rods you, on casting rods that are longer it's supposed to keep the line from rubbing on the rod like spinning rods. I have one it casts the same but I throw bigger baits with it. As far as fighting fish it works just feels weird at first. But you can put more pressure on the fish. If your getting a bait cast over 8ft it's probably a good idea.

Yea, I have one and love it. Mine is more of a boat rod, but it casts just fine. And no the line doesn't touch the rod any where, but its set up right. The spiral takes the torque out of the rod when putting the pressure on a fish. It isn't a new concept, just hasn't caught on...
