going down the 21-25th. never fished this far south on the coast but I have been doing my homework on it. from what I can tell the sand flats are a good place to fish. I will have my boat with me. im taking my 10 wt for the jetties and an 8 wt for the flats. does anyone have a report or any advice to throw my way!?

So you will be launching at Port Mansfield? Sand flats are good. Tide matters. Moon matters (I believe). I am not sure the sand on the bayside reaches all the way up to the cut though. On the Gulf side ... that's exciting stuff. Depending on your boat, and the conditions, you could run the beach where you could see tarpon, bonito, redfish, specks and who knows what else!

Wondering if there are any "red / brown tide" events going on though ...

water was very low but the fish didnt care. Waded the flats and I got into a ton of tailing redfish everywhere. fished the jetties and jumped huge tarpon. lost him on his 3rd jump hen I was a little slow on my bow since I was still so shocked I hooked him.

I will be down there in about two weeks. I'm not familiar with the area. Can you tell me where the sand flats are?

I'm jealous. Looks like a great time. I've been to busy this summer to make it down to the coast.

Are you still going to the living waters fly nights?
