Me and some buddies would like to plan a trip to La. for some spec and red fishing.

can you recommend an area, a lodge and a guide or two please?

We are not really trophy hunting, would just like someplace with a chance for good numbers

any suggestions would be appreciated, we are Texas fresh water fishermen and really want to get exposed to some La. salt water action.
thank you

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

+1 on Hackberry. Hackberry Rod and Gun have as nice of a lodge as you'll find, great food and guides. I'm headed back there myself in a couple weeks. Check out their website. I've not been on the Night Stalker trip but they seem to really haul in the specs while night fishing.

Go here: http://delacroixfishing.com/charters/ and fish with Captain Jack. You can even go to New Orleans. Great trout fishing (25 fish limit and you will limit).

Grand Isle

Fished there all my life. For charters try Pair of Dice Charters, Laid Back Charters, or Cajun Made Charters
Beach fishing, bay fishing &/or marsh fishing off side of La. 1 between Leeville and Grand Isle. Old bridge is a pier to fish off of. Great night fishing this time of year on it.

He fishes out of Shell Beach south of New Orleans. I fished with him last year and we had a 3 man limit of specks by 10am. Check out his site and reports, he is always on the fish and is really laid back and easy to fish with. We had a blast and if ever in the area, I know EXACTLY who to call if I want to take another trip!

Search for guides in delecroix, cocodrie, shell beach or dularge. If you don't catch your 25 trout limit I'd be completely shocked. You won't believe the fishing down there, I lived there and fished those waters most of my life before moving to texas. I miss the fishing more than I miss my family..😄
